Abstract

This IDC planning guide provides peer advice and examples to spark a more innovative culture that supports transformation and helps enterprises become "digital natives" in the way their executives and employees think, produce, and operate. As market leaders increasingly depend on their ability to innovate and to disrupt existing business and industries, traditional organizations must evolve to compete. They must learn to rapidly innovate, get more in touch with customer needs, harness data for rapid decision making, and incorporate innovative technologies.

This guide outlines methods to assess current corporate culture and to develop a more agile "start-up" like culture, including a checklist of important steps in the timeframes for the next 12 months, 12—24 months, and beyond. IDC's Innovation Strategies Framework will help leaders drive greater innovation and decide on which organizational structures are right for their organization. It also includes peer advice on common innovation challenges and approaches and ways to work with innovative start-up companies.

This presentation is part of IDC's Future Enterprise Planning Guide series. Each module delivers key overviews, targeted advice, and peer insights to guide users through key parts of the digital transformation process.
