Abstract

This IDC PeerScape explores how five CIOs across the airport, retail, construction, commercial real estate, and healthcare industries are approaching and resolving the skills gap between supply and demand.

"The recurring story that CIOs tell is that the market for cybersecurity skills will only get tighter. To help combat the negative effects of the shortfall, they're embracing a variety of practices, including outsourcing, relying on their own employees to be more security aware, and soliciting security intelligence and guidance from industry associations and their IT executive peers," says Julia King, an adjunct analyst with IDC's IT Executive Programs (IEP). "The bottom line is that cybersecurity is increasingly becoming a bigger part of everyone's job."
