Abstract

This IDC Perspective is intended to help foster a culture of continuous change that focuses on realizing IT organizational transformation. Digital transformation has brought CIOs to a pivotal moment: Their organizations are not fast enough, can't respond to change, and can't meet the business' increasing needs for digital innovation and services. They need to drive IT organizational transformation that creates new forms of hybrid organizations that innovate and create new digitally driven businesses and operating models.

"CIO and IT executives are leading the reinvention of the IT organization. But, managing change is tough. CIO and IT executives must manage the culture, leadership, and motivation aspects to create the right environment and processes to foster entrepreneurship and innovation," says Suya Xiong, research manager, IDC's IT Executive Programs.
