Abstract
This IDC Perspective discusses the use of BizOps and BizDevOps to provide complementary, data-driven approaches that help leaders develop and execute crisis-driven change strategies. BizOps employs cross-functional teams to understand the dimensions and impacts of a crisis situation, determine how to respond, optimize strategies, and accelerate organizational change using data-driven, agile approaches.
"Leaders can use BizOps to triage crisis-driven challenges and decide what new solutions are needed, what things need to change, and what activities should be eliminated using data and analytics to ensure alignment with changing business goals," says Mike Rosen, adjunct analyst with IDC's IT Executive Programs (IEP). "Working closely with LOB executives and business leaders, CIO can use cross-functional, collaborative BizOps and BizDevOps to identify critical enterprise priorities; design and vet potential solutions; and iteratively prioritize, develop, test, integrate, and deploy solutions."
