Abstract

This IDC Tech Buyer Presentation, which is part of IDC's Future Enterprise Planning Guide series, looks at managing and leveraging cloud for the digital enterprise. Organizations are heavily committed to and invested in cloud — over 74% of organizations are currently using SaaS and over 50% of organizations are using PaaS and IaaS. The adoption of cloud comes with a whole host of new hurdles from adoption strategies to compliance and deciding the best route and options for applications: replace, rearchitect, refactor, or rehost. The cloud services model is no longer something enterprises need to develop "competency" in; they need to master the cloud. A majority of hardware and a larger majority of software is now built for cloud deployment.

Optimized enterprises' cloud strategies are well defined, consistent, and regularly reassessed to ensure flexibility and lower cost and risk. These enterprises leverage multicloud options and enable operations with AI to drive compliance, SLAs, and costs.

This module will help technology executives get the tools necessary to address security, choose vendors, and successfully develop and manage their cloud migration and road map. Understanding and measuring your success in mastering cloud paves the way to the future enterprise and avoids major problems that can result from a poorly implemented cloud strategy.

This IDC Tech Buyer Presentation is part of IDC's Future Enterprise Planning Guide series. Each module delivers key overviews, targeted advice, and peer insights to guide users through key parts of the digital transformation process.
