Abstract

This IDC Perspective shares the experiences of senior procurement executive leaders as they discuss challenges and opportunities now that companies have achieved stasis after the initial stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. This meeting was designed enable senior IT and procurement leaders to exchange ideas about their sourcing priorities for the next 6–12 months, the new business drivers they are responding to, and the techniques to make the IT procurement process go faster and better.

"Procurement executives and their teams are affected by the need to maintain business continuity after the first wave of the pandemic; however, many are also being asked to fill, without new spend, their companies' need to expand their capabilities," notes Aaron Polikaitis, research vice president, IDC's IT Executive Programs (IEP).
