This IDC Tech Buyer Presentation highlights the 10th iteration of IDC's unique data collection initiative in the IT perspective. "CIOs' New Leadership Path" highlights IDC's latest worldwide learnings since the COVID-19 crisis began. This information will help senior technology executives lead their teams through the post-pandemic recession and disruption. When the COVID-19 pandemic first hit, IDC leaders saw that ongoing surveys of hundreds of global customers would provide invaluable guidance to technology leaders, vendors, and service providers.
Aligning with a common strategy starts with sharing a vision of the future and agreeing to a path forward across the enterprise. With the pandemic, CIOs had to expand their leadership and play a more critical role in the survival of their enterprise. "CIOs must communicate broadly with data, champion collaboration, and coordinate technology implementation," says Serge Findling, vice president of research with IDC's IT Executive Programs (IEP). Diversity is essential to adapt to a fast-changing and unpredictable environment, but only in a context of collaboration and synergy.
