IDC Future of Work A Blueprint for the Future of Work in the Next Normal

DIGITAL Event | Hopin | October 22, 2020

Overview

Due to the current global situation, IDC have taken the decision to make the Future of Work 2.0 Conference that is taking place on 22nd October a Digital Forum. This decision was taken as the safety of our sponsors, delegates and staff is paramount, and our communities health should be placed above all else.

No one could have predicted the state of the world today. Besides the death toll, the current pandemic has thrown the European continent into the deepest recession since World War II. This is an important inflexion point in history and there is no return. The world will never be the same post-crisis - like the virus, it has mutated in something stronger.

In the workplace, the current crisis has been a catalyst for profound workforce transformation. Companies that have succeeded with business continuity and resilience during the crisis, were led by an agile, engaged and highly skilled workforce.

Whilst no one has a blueprint for the next normal, we can all consider the lessons of the recent past and re-imagine constructively our future. How would we like it to be? We believe the following elements will be shaping the next normal:

-        The hybrid workplace for employee productivity

-        Automation and intelligent technologies creating superior employee experience

-        High performance teams that are adaptable to a volatile changing world

-        Employee empowerment and trust and new leadership models

-        Lifelong learning that fosters a culture of innovation

-        Wellbeing in the workplace

Organisations have seen an unprecedented increase in the number of remote employees over recent months. However, the new normal of a remote workforce has changed the threat model of the organisation overnight. There are multiple solutions available to address the challenges of a remote workforce, but many are not secure and organisations need to navigate the complex path of quickly, but securely, operationalising and supporting their remote employees.

In this session, we will explore the risks remote workers present and demonstrate how a Privilege Access Management (PAM) solution can quickly and efficiently enable remote employees, securely.

Join this session and learn:

·       Considerations for a secure remote working environment

·       How to balance remote workers security and productivity

·       Recommendations to support a remote workforce with a PAM solution

The world of work is facing a watershed. The rapid emergence of distributed workforces across every industry has compelled us to reimagine the workplace – where it is, what it looks like and, most importantly, who it’s for.

How we choose to respond right now, will lay the foundation for an entire generation’s future of working.

To attract and retain talent while ensuring long-term success, organisations need to rethink their workplace strategies from several angles. Employee wellbeing, intelligent technology and spaces that support activity-based working, are fundamental to shaping superior employee experiences which ultimately enable productivity and profitability.

Cross-functional teams comprising HR, Facilities and IT leaders, are crucial to solving this complex equation. In this session, NTT Ltd.’s VPs of HR and IT will join Employee Experience GTM Lead, Kamran Khan for a fireside chat to explore this evolving subject and share insights from our own journey to date.

  • WHITE PAPER: UNIVERSAL PRIVILEGE MANAGEMENT

In today’s vast landscape of cyberattacks, there is a common thread: successful attacks almost always involve compromised or misused privileges. For example, most malware needs privileges to execute and install. Once a threat actor has infiltrated an IT network, privileges are typically needed to access resources or compromise additional identities. With privileged credentials and access in their clutches, a threat actor or piece of malware essentially becomes an “insider”. And, outside of Privileged Access Management (PAM), there are few defenses against a rogue insider.
