Overview

Building Digital Trust: Identity, Privacy and Data Security

Digital trust is now essential to future business success and has become a business imperative as organizations accelerate their digital transformation strategies to meet the new reality. Identity, privacy and data security are the foundational pillars to building the trusted enterprise. Going forward trust programmes will need to evolve and incorporate values-based goals such as business ethics and corporate social responsibility, as well as supporting business outcomes: transparency, brand reputation, customer loyalty, supply chain integrity and operational efficiency.

The Future of Trust is defined as the condition that enables decisions to be made between two or more entities that reflects the level of confidence (risk and reputation) between parties.
• The five components of trust that comprise the core elements of trust are: Security, Risk, Compliance, Privacy, and Social Responsibility and Ethics.
Trust by itself is not an outcome; the five components of trust are implemented as a hierarchy of trust to create differentiated impact of the value of the organization; these are called trust outcomes

IDC's Future of Trust Roadshow 2021, will provide a review of industry trends across identity, privacy and data security, and share best practices and insight into technology solutions to consider in your strategic planning towards a trusted enterprise.

Building Digital Trust: Identity, Privacy and Data Security

Mark Child

Research Manager, European Security, IDC CEMA

The concept of digital trust is rapidly becoming a business imperative in the digital era. Security is one component of that, as the barrier between data integrity and compromise, fundamental for building digital trust. But trust encompasses so much more. From privacy and compliance to sustainability; from ecommerce to trusted ecosystems; and from ethics and transparency to brand reputation and loyalty. At the same time, traditional approaches to security, identity, risk, compliance and privacy are facing challenges both in scope and scale as the pandemic and the next normal have catapulted us into fully digital engagement models.

9:20

Protecting critical data across hybrid environments.

Patrick Grillo

Senior Director, Solutions Marketing, Fortinet

How a network is secured needs to change as networks themselves have changed.  Because they are made up from multiple, distinct entities – branch, campus, data center and cloud – security has traditionally followed the same methodology. But user, device and application mobility require that security take a different approach – a single, contiguous security posture across the whole of the network.  Whether working from home or at an SD-WAN connected branch office, accessing applications either on-premises and in the cloud, organizations cannot afford any lapse in their security posture.

This session will focus on how to achieve consistent protection across the hybrid environment that is today’s modern network.

Data Ethics: Moving Beyond Privacy

Tom Southern

Country Offering Lead, OneTrust

Promoting a culture of trust that strengthens your brand both internally and externally is no easy feat. Identifying, monitoring and mitigating risk across your business and third parties, as well as creating policies, procedures, and codes of conduct across different stakeholders and business units requires ethics to be placed at the centre of an organisation's practices. In this session, we will discuss the practicalities of building an ethics and compliance program, examining key issues around whistleblowing, third party due diligence, data risk management, and awareness training.

Using Enterprise Architecture framework to map and make trust relations visible

Patrik Maltusch

EA architect, Aalto University

Trust relationships can easily be identified by using a standard EA layer framework. This presentation will use the Finnish national public reference model (JHS 179) as baseline to demonstrate the relations associated to this approach. However, any similar framework can be used to build such map. Additionally a simple case example where Machine Learning is used to  analyzing Support tickets will functions as the canvas to visualize the existing Trust components in more detail.
