Abstract

This report is part 2 of 2 of a series examining Asia/Pacific’s (including Japan) (APJ) state of digital business transformation. It drills down into the expanded definition of the business value, new success metrics, and technology investments required for a digital business to understand value drivers across its ecosystem and impacts on the environment. The report aims to help tech vendors understand how to meet technology buyers’ changing priorities as they transition from scaling digital internally to using technology to compete in the digital-first era.

The way digital-first organizations perceive and measure value beyond financial metrics to include ecosystem value contribution and its impact on society and the environment (i.e., environmental, social, and governance) is quickly changing. Technology vendors must likewise contribute as part of the technology buyer's ecosystem while working to be a green and environmentally responsible supplier. As buyers build capabilities to connect and make sense of today’s hyperconnectivity and symbiotic and digital-first world, technology vendors can tap into these opportunities by demonstrating how hyperconnectivity, artificial intelligence (AI), and data management/analytics capabilities enable digital business fabric to make sense of and participate in digital ecosystems.
