As Director of IDC's newest research practice, Julie's approach to competitive intelligence is to provide a structured approach to monitoring and analyzing publicly available competitor information to help clients improve the strategic management process and secure competitive advantages. Leveraging publicly available information and primary research vehicles such as IDC's research panels and executive interviews, Julie's aim is to further IDC Canada's ability to provide strategic competitive insights into the Canadian ICT marketplace through new research vehicles, monitoring and analysis tools, and communication plans across IDC's current research offerings and through new published and custom client solutions.
In her 15+ years at IDC Canada, Julie Ross has developed extensive experience executing primary and secondary market competitive research across a variety of progressively senior analyst and management roles. For the past five years, Julie was a Consulting Director in IDC Canada's consulting practice, leading custom research engagements on behalf of some of IDC Canada's largest clients. She was previously a program director for the Professional Services Research Group, and was IDC's principal analyst on various market dynamics affecting IT workforce management in Canada and was a popular public speaker on the implications of elearning on Canada's IT and business training industry.
Specializing in strategic marketing, Julie studied at the prestigious The London School of Economics, Queen's University's International Study Centre, and holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University's School of Business and Economics.
