Keith Kmetz is the Vice President of IDC's Hardcopy Peripherals Solutions and Services programs. He is responsible for all written research in these areas, including analysis on the copier, printer, and multifunction peripheral (MFP) markets as well as related hardcopy software/services developments.
Mr. Kmetz has been conducting research and consulting in these markets with IDC since 1995. Specifically, his research experience includes forecasting and analyzing the hardcopy market opportunity; analyzing user survey data (spanning a variety of topics such as office printing, hardcopy and vertical markets, go-to-market strategies, document software/services solutions, color hardcopy devices, hardcopy in small business markets, digital copier connectivity, paper/electronic document distribution, peripherals in the home and MFP conjoint analysis); participation in consulting projects that address a wide spectrum of industry issues; and conducting presentations for clients and their customers.
Mr. Kmetz joined IDC in 1995 with more than 10 years of IT marketing and market research experience. Previously, he has served in various product and marketing positions within the hardcopy vendor and channel communities. In addition, Mr. Kmetz was an analyst at BIS Strategic Decisions in the company's printer program.
Since joining IDC, Keith successfully launched the company's U.S. hardcopy research services and helped develop IDC's global hardcopy research efforts. Mr. Kmetz has been recognized for a number of IDC Excellence Awards in the areas of Business Development, Product Quality, and Consulting Achievement. He is also widely quoted in major trade and business publications on the hardcopy market.
Mr. Kmetz has a B.A. in behavioral sciences from Concordia College and an M.B.A. in marketing from Babson College.
