Abstract
This IDC study analyzes the outsourced document services marketplace that is made up of in-house production print services, mailroom services, print sourcing and procurement services, and imaging and document archival services. This document updates Worldwide and U.S. Outsourced Document Services Forecast, 2023–2027 (IDC #US49326723, April 2023).
Note that any revenue generated by centralized services that are included as a component of a managed print and document services (MPDS) or basic print services (BPS) contract is excluded from this forecast. That revenue is included in Worldwide and U.S. Managed Print and Document Services and Basic Print Services Forecast Update, 2023–2027 (IDC #US50129923, March 2024), which will be updated in July 2024. In addition, the business process outsourcing (BPO) document services segment is covered in Worldwide Document Workflow Automation and Optimization Forecast, 2024–2028 (IDC #US50780824, March 2024).
"The outsourced document services market continues to show signs of recovery," says Robert Palmer, research vice president, IDC's Imaging, Printing, and Document Solutions. "Increasingly, organizations are looking to outsource certain document-intensive processes in an effort to drive digital transformation, improve efficiencies, and boost employee productivity across the hybrid working model."
