This IDC Survey Spotlight examines results from IDC's 2023 IT Leasing and Financing Survey, conducted in 4Q23. The survey demonstrates that organizations turn to leasing in times of economic uncertainty. At the start of 2023, the headlines about the economy were filled with discussions of inflation, a possible recession, and decreased spending forecasts. In times of economic uncertainty, organizations evaluate their procurement strategies and acquisition plans and often look for alternatives to purchasing.
