Abstract
This IDC Survey Spotlight provides a perspective on how IT buyers are planning the various aspects of their infrastructure in the next 12–24 months. These include adding, removing, or upgrading function accelerators (e.g., DPUs), workload accelerators (e.g., GPUs), and primary processors (i.e., CPUs) and switching the operating system and the server specifications themselves. The latter includes changing socket capability and form factors. These insights were provided by respondents to a worldwide web-based survey on enterprise infrastructure as part of IDC's 3Q23 Enterprise Infrastructure Pulse Survey fielded in November 2023.
