Matt Eastwood is Senior Vice President of IDC’s enterprise infrastructure, cloud, telecom, security, developers, channels and enabling technology research groups. Mr. Eastwood and his team research people, process and technology trends affecting the enterprise technology marketplace worldwide. Mr. Eastwood first joined IDC in 2000 as part of the server team and his responsibilities have evolved and expanded during his tenure. In his current role, he leads a team of more than 100 analysts providing insights and analysis to IT suppliers, buyers, investors, and distributors through more than 75 syndicated research programs. Mr. Eastwood also leads IDC’s BuyerView primary research programs which are focused on defining emerging trends in cloud, developers, service providers, edge, AI and security. 

Group Vice President, Security & Trust

Frank Dickson is the Group Vice President for IDC’s Security & Trust research practice. In this role, he leads the team that delivers compelling research in the areas of AI Security; Cybersecurity Services; Information and Data Security; Endpoint Security; Trust; Governance, Risk & Compliance; Identity & Digital Trust; Network Security; Privacy & Legal Tech; and Application Security & Fraud. Topically, he provides thought leadership and guidance for clients on a wide range of security topics including ransomware and emerging products designed to protect transforming architectures and business models.

BACKGROUND
Mr. Dickson joined IDC with 20 years of industry analyst experience examining a number of interrelated content domains including security, mobile, wireless, telecom, multimedia, computing, and semiconductors. Prior to joining IDC, Mr. Dickson served as a Research Director, managing cybersecurity research, including outsourced security services (e.g., managed, and professional security services). Mr. Dickson has also pioneered innovative research for a number of market intelligence firms serving as Vice President of Research, Mobile & Wireless with In-Stat (The NPD Group), founding MultiMedia Intelligence as Chief Research Officer, launching iSuppli’s TMT research practice, and managing Cahners In-Stat Group’s largest research practice (Multimedia) as Vice President of Research.

Research Director, Future of Trust

Grace Trinidad is Research Director in IDC’s Security & Trust research practice responsible for the Future of Trust research program. In this role she provides strategic guidance and research support on approaches to trust that include risk, security, compliance, privacy, ethics, and social responsibility.

BACKGROUND
Dr. Trinidad has published peer-reviewed research on privacy and trust in healthcare, exploring public attitudes towards commercial use of personal health information. Other areas of Dr. Trinidad’s research include the ethics of artificial intelligence and data sharing, trust in healthcare providers and in healthcare organizations, genomic database use and accessibility, and data equity.

Research Director

Jennifer Glenn is Research Director for the IDC Security and Trust Group and is responsible for the information and data security practice. Ms. Glenn’s core coverage includes a broad range of technologies including messaging security, sensitive data management, encryption, tokenization, rights management, key management, and certificates. As part of this research, Ms. Glenn will demonstrate the critical role of data security in top enterprise initiatives such as generating customer trust and digital transformation.

BACKGROUND
Ms. Glenn has an extensive background in cybersecurity enabled by more than 20 years of marketing experience with leading providers. Most recently, she was a content director for IBM Security, where she established and led the organization’s go-to-market efforts for Zero Trust. Prior to IBM, Ms. Glenn held senior product marketing roles with SailPoint Technologies, Arbor Networks (now NetScout) and TippingPoint Technologies (now Trend Micro). She started her career as a public relations associate with Lois Paul & Partners, where she found her love of cybersecurity and helped build the security practice.

Group Vice-President, AI, Data, and Automation

Shari Lava is Group Vice-President, AI, Data, and Automation. Ms. Lava’s core research coverage includes the fast-evolving AI software market, as well as the Automation and Data foundations essential for deploying AI at enterprise scale. This includes deep analysis of market dynamics, adoption trends, and how these technologies converge to deliver superior business outcomes. She is based remotely in Toronto, Canada.

Previously at IDC, Shari led the integration and AI enablement research program within the AI, Data and Automation group, alongside the Small and Medium Business (SMB) program, enabling technology suppliers to better navigate the SMB ecosystem. Prior to IDC, she was Vice President, Marketing Intelligence at Greystone Managed Investments, an asset management firm, where she leveraged data analytics to drive success across the customer journey. Before that, Ms. Lava led the Vendor Advisory Services practice at Info-Tech Research Group, delivering actionable market insights to technology vendors. Earlier, she was a management consultant with Deloitte’s CRM and Information Management practices, specializing in implementing and integrating applications for clients of all sizes across diverse industries
