Abstract
This IDC Survey Spotlight is based on IDC's European Cloud, Edge, and IoT Demand Survey conducted in March 2023. Some 700 organizations across multiple countries in the European Union were polled in the survey. The survey was conducted as part of the UNLOCK-CEI project that was funded by the European Commission under Grant Agreement number 101070571.
The survey reveals that the position of service providers as key partners to organizations in Europe is increasingly being challenged by cloud providers — particularly infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) providers — even as the adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions on the continent continues to soar.
