Satoshi Fukutomi is Research Manager for IDC's Japan Enterprise Platforms and Datacenter Infrastructure Trends and is responsible for primary research, consulting and multi-client studies for IDC's Japan Enterprise Server programs.
Fukutomi has been at IDC Japan since 2003 and specializes in synthesis of end-user survey with market trends and facts to analyze competitive landscape and to evaluate business opportunities. These studies include Server Delivery Model, Server Virtualization, Datacenter Infrastructure, Datacenter Consolidation, Power and Cooling and Green IT.
In his previous roles at IDC Japan, Fukutomi was responsible for quarterly x86 server tracking, competitive analysis, market segmentation by business segments, and channel dynamics impacting the enterprise computing in Japan.
Prior to joining IDC Japan, Fukutomi has 13 years of experience -in the ICT market. Fukutomi worked for the Partner Department and the Sales Department at Sun Microsystems Japan. There, he was involved in channel strategy planning and revenue management. Prior to joining Sun Microsystems, he worked for Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting) as a functional analyst. His responsibilities included systems planning for financial institutions, systems design and development.
Mr. Fukutomi holds a degree of Bachelor of Business Administration from Yokohama National University.
