The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is the fastest-growing standard for connecting AI systems — Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, custom agents — to enterprise content. IDC Quanta in Claude is our first MCP offering, generally available now, delivering IDC-grounded answers directly inside Claude with inline citations and OAuth SSO. Coming next are more MCP connectors for major GenAI systems, plus a developer focused interface for teams building their own agents and pipelines.

- Research documents — expert-written analyses, forecasts and strategic insights from IDC analysts. Delivered as executive summaries and full reports (HTML, XML, PDF, PPT, Excel) with metadata (author, publication date, topics).
- Data products — structured, machine-readable content from IDC market models, trackers and surveys: time-series data, segment breakdowns, forecast metrics, region and industry categorisation.
Data subscriptions may also include taxonomy files, occasional research documents, and customer-specific deliverables (pivot tables, qualitative analysis) — accessible today via MyIDC.
Subscription-based access
All IDC integrations are governed by your subscription entitlements. You can retrieve only content within your active subscriptions — documents in your package, filtered to licensed regions, segments and tiers, and respecting release, publication and retire dates. Requests for unsubscribed content return standard responses (403 Forbidden for APIs, an upsell hint in MCP). For additional coverage, contact your account manager or Customer Success representative.
