IDC Names Asia/Pacific Professional Security Services Leaders and Major Players in 2022

SINGAPORE, October 20, 2022 – According to a recent IDC report titled, IDC MarketScape : Asia/Pacific Professional Security Services 2022 Vendor Assessment, IDC named (in alphabetical order) Accenture, Deloitte, EY, IBM, KPMG, PwC, and Verizon as “Leaders” in the Professional Security Services (PSS) market. Following the “Leaders” are the “Major Players” in the market: FPT Software, Fujitsu, HCL Technologies, Tata Communications, Telstra Purple, and Trustwave.

” In the past two years organizations were plunged into a new digital era and forced into a corner to either adapt, evolve, find new ways to create value, or stay stagnant and be left behind. However, this shift toward an accelerated DX era has also invited more cybersecurity risks on unparalleled levels. Organizations face reputational, operational, legal, and regulatory implications if such risks are neglected. Hence, enterprises and organizations should forge trusted relationships with professional security services providers to guide them through these unprecedented times,” says Christian Fam, Research Manager, IDC Asia/Pacific Services and Security.

Using the IDC MarketScape model, IDC studied 13 organizations that offer professional security services in Asia/Pacific between 2021 and 2022. Most participating firms in the report, if not all, were ascertained to have comprehensive offeringsthat span across security strategy and planning, governance, risk, and compliance (GRC), architecture assessment, threat assessment and simulation services, and incident management.

The participating firms were meticulously evaluated using the IDC MarketScape model, which reviewed the vendors’ capabilities and strategies against an extensive list of scoring criteria and parameters. These include the comprehensiveness of their offerings, portfolio benefits, market execution, market presence, innovation, thought leadership, customer satisfaction, and employee management, to name a few. With the combination of primary research, as well as IDC’s own in-depth industry knowledge and insights, IDC was able to methodically assess the strength of each participating vendor as and their challenges. This study provides valuable insight for enterprises and organizations in Asia/Pacific that are currently seeking a security provider and trusted partner to guide them on their digital transformation (DX) journey.

“Security has evolved as a strategic and business imperative for organizations. This entails reassessment of their IT architecture and investment reprioritization to secure their hybrid work environments, DX initiatives, migration to hybrid and multicloud environments, and address tightening regulations. They need to build a robust and fool-proof security environment that will serve as a strong foundation of security layers to build modern enterprises of the future,” added Shweta Baidya, Senior Research Manager, IDC Asia/Pacific Services and Security.

Digital transformation has expanded the availability, velocity, and mission-critical need of data. Enterprises need to be prepared to respond to any cyberattack, data breach, and privacy concerns.
