This IDC Market Note highlights the measures taken by digital engineering services providers to ensure safety of their employees and their families in the current Russia-Ukraine war. It also looks at the steps put in place to ensure minimal disruption to customers' businesses and finally provides various scenarios that can evolve in the coming days and weeks and discusses options that these providers and customers have.
In the current extremely fluid environment, IDC is carefully evaluating the situation and its impact on people, engineering services business in the region, and the impact on customers.
"Irrespective of how the situation evolves, engineering services firms, tech companies, and customers operating or leveraging services from the region must continue to ensure the safety of their employees and families. As with everything else in Ukraine, its tech and services industry will take time to recover. There is likely to be a ripple effect to other countries in Europe and perhaps a larger global impact depending on the longevity and scale of the conflict. Ultimately, it is these resilient engineers that will play a big role in recovery," said Mukesh Dialani, program director, Digital Engineering and Operational Technology Services at IDC.
