This IDC Survey Spotlight examines some of the results from IDC's new global analysis of technology adoption in the smart electricity metering space. The work combines IDC's expertise with new research and interviews conducted with technology vendors, standard-setting organizations, and grid operators around the globe. This analysis provides insights into the penetration of open meter data exchange standards and the drivers for selecting a particular smart meter data exchange standard today, as well as the expectations for supported applications in the medium term.
