Amit Bansal is a Research Manager with IDC’s Asia/Pacific Enterprise Computing – Networking Group. Based in Bangalore, Amit is responsible for tracking, market sizing and analysis of the switching, routing, wireless LAN and application networking equipment segments for Thailand markets. He also works closely with a team of IDC's country analysts in the ASEAN region to provide the IDC regional team with the latest trends and comprehensive analysis.

Prior to joining IDC Asia/Pacific, he worked for IBM, HP and IDC India. In his last role at IBM, he was involved in product marketing and competitive marketing for storage software products. In his position with HP, he handled email marketing, Green IT marketing and provided competitive intelligence to the marketing team. Amit started his career with IDC India with the primary responsibility of managing the PC tracker and the x-86 server market for India.

Amit holds a Masters degree specializing in International Business (MIB) from Delhi University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication.
