Abstract

This IDC Perspective guides CIOs who are wrestling with technology planning in the post-COVID-19 era. COVID-19 has terminated the relentless economic growth of the past 10 years. Now, CIOs and business leaders must choose technologies that will protect their organizations, help them survive the 2020 recession, and prepare for renewed growth after the recession.

"Digital transformation will continue, but not all digital technologies will be relevant," says Ron Babin, adjunct analyst with IDC's IT Executive Programs (IEP). "CIOs will be called on to help their organizations to survive in the short term and position for growth in the long term.
