This IDC Survey Spotlight highlights where do IT outsourcing providers and consulting partners rank among the most strategic technology partners. IT outsourcing providers play an equally strategic and crucial role in an organization's digital transformation journey as a consulting partner.
The data shows that public cloud provider and digital infrastructure provider are among the top preferred strategic technology partners. However, businesses recognize the importance of ongoing management of their core IT functions by an IT outsourcing provider so that they focus on their core competencies, and hence, there is still plenty of business available for both IT outsourcing providers and consulting providers to capture. IT outsourcing and consulting vendors need to focus on having a customer-centric approach, upskill and reskill their talent with effective use of new technologies, and build partnerships to expand offerings and offer multifaceted services to be a one-stop solution shop for the end users.
