Abstract
This IDC Survey Spotlight focuses on the criteria important to business leaders when selecting a cloud vendor. Here we compare the results of a 2022 survey with the results of a 2023 survey on the following question: "In this exercise, you have 100 points to measure how important the following criteria are to selecting a cloud provider." Response options include security, privacy, cost, and ESG, among other selection options.
Although North American respondents have typically given the least priority weight to ESG considerations when compared with regional counterparts in EMEA, LATAM, and APAC, in this survey result, we see a shifting ESG landscape and provide an overview on what this can mean for North American customers.
