This IDC Market Analysis Perspective examines the tablet market. The tablet market returned to pre-pandemic levels in 2Q23, and full-year totals are projected to decline 20.0% to 129.4 million units. The decline rate would be the largest we've recorded since a pre-iPad 2008. The 129.4 million units would be the lowest total since 2011. Still, there is hope on the horizon. Looming refreshes, Windows migration, and growth of deployments into the gig economy and frontline workforces will drive market recovery over the next two years.
