Abstract
This IDC Tech Buyer Presentation provides IT budget benchmark data and priorities for the manufacturing industry. The investment data, of over 1,300 manufacturers, comes from a recent IDC's Manufacturing Industry Study (January 2023) as well as IDC spending guides. This includes a mix of companies across both process and discrete manufacturing, including all four value chains that IDC covers (AOVC, BOVC, EOVC, TOVC).
Key topics covered in the guide include overall business concerns/priorities/digital investments as well as the drivers across manufacturing DX strategic priorities (resilient supply chain, smart manufacturing/Industry 4.0, smart product/service innovation, customer experience, and sustainability/ESG). Manufacturers can use this information to help define their IT strategy and influence budget allocations, as well as evaluate their own spending against the provided industry benchmarks.
