Abstract
This IDC Tech Buyer Presentation provides IT budget benchmark data and priorities for the asset-oriented value chain (AOVC), those manufacturers that are heavily influenced by the capabilities, capacity, and efficiency of their assets, such as chemicals, pulp and paper, and metals. The investment data, of over 250 AOVC organizations, comes from a recent IDC Manufacturing Industry study (January 2023) as well as IDC spending guides. This includes a comparison of value chain priorities with the manufacturing industry (process and discrete).
AOVC organizations can use this information to help define their IT strategy and influence budget allocations as well as evaluate their own spending against the provided industry benchmarks.
