Abstract
This IDC Tech Buyer Presentation provides IT budget benchmark data and priorities for the engineering-oriented value chain (EOVC) — those manufacturers that must deal with complex products, such as automotive, aerospace and defense (A&D), and farm, construction, and industrial machinery. The investment data, of over 350 EOVC organizations, comes from a recent IDC Manufacturing Industry study (January 2023) as well as IDC spending guides. This includes a comparison of value chain priorities with the manufacturing industry (process and discrete).
EOVC organizations can use this information to help define their IT strategy and influence budget allocations as well as evaluate their own spending against the provided industry benchmarks.
