Abstract
This IDC Tech Buyer Presentation presents the results of IDC's 2023 Future of Trust Scorecard Survey.
Organizations understand the importance of trust and trustworthiness but may not know where to point their efforts to yield the greatest return on investment. The Future of Trust Scorecard compares leading enterprises with their marketplace peers and illuminates where trust leaders have differentiated themselves. It is meant to guide and stimulate discussion on where efforts can be made so that others may pursue the advantages in profit, operational efficiency, innovation, sustainability, and other business outcomes that high trust yields.
This survey shows the proportions of organizations that have been identified as "nascent," "developing," "enhancing," and "leading" in their trust and trustworthiness efforts are focusing specifically on efforts in risk management, security, privacy, compliance, and ESG, as these areas have been found in previous research to contribute significantly to an organization's trust and trustworthiness. We also provide the difference in business outcome improvement among those in the nascent group versus those in the leading group to show what stands to be gained when trust and trustworthiness are improved.
