This IDC Survey Spotlight focuses on how widely adopted the cloud is for operational workloads and the policy/position organizations are taking going forward. In addition, this IDC Survey Spotlight examines how these factors vary by industry subsegment, as factors such as asset criticality, reliability, and compliance concerns play a factor in migrating operational workloads.
This IDC Survey Spotlight is based on IDC's Future of Operations, August 2023, which surveyed roughly 850 organizations to better understand the determinants and best practices for operational excellence and resilience. For the purposes of this survey, operations referred to the activities responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient execution of physical processes central to an organization's business.
