Abstract

This IDC Tech Buyer Presentation highlights the operational findings from IDC's GenAI ARC Survey. Generative AI (GenAI) is a branch of computer science that involves unsupervised and semi-supervised algorithms that enable computers to create new content using previously created content such as text, audio, video, images, and code in response to short prompts. GenAI promises to drastically reduce the time and costs associated with a wide range of use cases linked to automation and intelligence. While interest in GenAI has exploded over the past year, operations anticipate a longer time frame for adoption (14.1 months on average versus 12.9 months for all industries). This IDC Tech Buyer Presentation explores the findings of 568 operational respondents with a focus on their current use of GenAI, future investment plans, challenges being encountered, and the best practices to better scale GenAI for operations.

This presentation was shared with clients in March 2024.
