Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight unveils pivotal insights derived from IDC's 2024 Future Enterprise Resiliency and Spending Survey, 2024, wave 3, conducted in April 2024. It highlights the critical balance between deploying AI-/ML-driven automation technologies and managing security concerns within enterprises in Asia/Pacific. Despite the significant benefits of automation, including enhanced efficiency and cost reduction, security concerns remain the greatest challenge to its deployment. In the Asia/Pacific region, organizations heavily prioritize security risk and compliance, making them resistant to budget cuts in these areas. This focus, while essential, can impede the rapid adoption of automation technologies.

"Advanced security solutions, such as AI-powered analytics, robust encryption, zero-trust architecture, and automated threat detection, are crucial in mitigating these concerns. By integrating these technologies and maintaining stringent compliance standards, Asia/Pacific enterprises can overcome barriers to automation, ensuring both innovation and security in their operations," says Sakshi Grover, senior research manager, IDC Asia/Pacific. Grover adds, "The prioritization of security risks and compliance within the region can be directly correlated with the challenges faced in deploying automation technologies."
