Abstract
The education sector in the Middle East (ME) has changed significantly in the past few years due to major disruptions caused by the COVD-19 pandemic, in addition to constantly evolving market needs and technology offerings. This IDC Survey document analyzes organizational behavior in the education sector with regard to digital-first strategies, key technology investment areas in 2022–2023, challenges education organizations across ME face with regard to digital transformation, and the attributes that education IT leaders favor in technology vendors.
This document is based on results from IDC's Digital Transformation CIO Survey, 2022, conducted in the region in March.
"Although the pandemic affected almost every industry in the world, the education industry in particular underwent a full-fledged paradigm shift. One lasting aspect of that change is the heightened importance of digital transformation to support remote and hybrid learning environments. Demand is expected to increase for cutting-edge technologies that support learning continuity and allow education organizations to provide an enhanced user experience." — Senior Research Analyst George Ayad, Software & Cloud, IDC MEA
