Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight focuses on the results of a November 2022 survey of 220 IT channel partners in the Middle East, Türkiye, and Africa (META) region. It aims to identify the types of channel partners participating in the cloud market in Sub-Saharan Africa.

“Cloud adoption is quickly gaining traction across Sub-Saharan Africa, with most channel partners currently providing managed cloud services and cloud optimization solutions. Current efforts to modernize critical business applications have spurred demand for managed cloud services due to the limited availability of in-house skills in most organizations. With anticipated investments in public platform-as-a-service and software-as-a-service solutions, as well as on-premises private cloud solutions, demand for managed services is expected to continue increasing in the short-to-medium term. As such, vendors should provide channel partners with the necessary support — including business development/presales support — to ensure adequate service provision to customers." — Research Manager for IT Services Derrick Chikanga, IDC META
