Managed Detection and Response: The Middle East Needs Automation
Abstract
Managed detection and response (MDR) will top the security agendas of CISOs across the Middle East in 2023. Accordingly, almost all managed security services providers (MSSPs) in the region are actively positioning such services. Numerous pure players and security technology vendors like CrowdStrike, Sophos, Microsoft, and Palo Alto Networks have launched MDR services. Morevover, many MSSPs and security service providers are now looking to expand upon their MDR offerings with the introduction of managed extended detection and response (MXDR) services.
"MDR offerings for the Middle East should be built with the right set of tools, including extended detection and response (XDR) platforms with expanded or region-focused telemetry sources. Complete response function capabilities backed by automation will be essential for MDR success in the region." — Shilpi Handa, associate research director for security, IDC Middle East and Africa
