Daphne Chung

Research Director, Software, IDC Asia/Pacific

Daphne Chung is a research director with IDC’s Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) Cloud Services and Software research group. Based in Singapore, she focuses on cloud services research with emphasis on cloud software research. Previously, Daphne managed the Asia/Pacific semiannual software tracker program and, together with the team, tracked, analyzed, and delivered insights on key dynamics and opportunities in the software markets as well as related public cloud services markets in the region. Her previous focus at IDC included life sciences market research. To date, she has been regularly quoted in various media publications such as CNet, CIO Magazine, ComputerWorld, ZDnet, and Sydney Morning Herald. She has also been interviewed on CNBC and MediaCorp Radio. Daphne has also presented in key industry conferences and seminars around the region on various topics.

Prior to joining IDC in 2001, Daphne held various roles at Fairfax Business Media and Strategic Publishing Group. She graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Masters of Science and a Bachelor of Science, Honors (Second Upper).
