This IDC Perspective assesses the IBM Task Mining software. IBM is a market share leader for business automation software. IBM Task Mining is bundled into IBM Process Mining and embedded in IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation. IBM outperformed in key areas of IDC's competitive assessment of task mining software, including capabilities to improve task efficiency and generate automation scripts from the improvement.
"IBM should be considered when an organization has adopted IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation. It also should be considered for legacy modernization or replatforming. Understanding the workflows and manual tasks that are involved with a legacy environment is important. Process and task mining will help inform the decision making," according to Maureen Fleming, program vice president, IDC's AI and Automation Research practice.
