Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight highlights the results from a recent IDC's Return to the Office Survey. The survey respondents were asked to describe any anticipated change the organization will make in the length of time six different device types are maintained in the field before replacing them. The survey was conducted with over 500 U.S. respondents in September 2022. Stay the same was consistently the highest response for all device types, but when comparing the decrease time in use response with the increase time in use response, increase was consistently the higher value. This means that while most organizations will make the attempt to maintain their print fleet lives as is, we should expect to see growing interest in extending product lives in the future based on these results.
