Abstract
This IDC Pivot Table (executive dashboard) provides U.S. consumer refresh rates (aka device life-cycle or replacement rates) for PCs and tablets by form factor (desktops, notebooks, convertibles, detachables, and slates) and includes trends for the 2017–2022 period. 2019–2022 data includes slicers by brand as well as user age, gender, and household (HH) demographics (income, region, HH size, suburban/urban/rural). There are also cuts from 2020 to 2022 based on consumers' placement on our Gamer continuum and our Creator continuum.
This data is from IDC's U.S. Consumer Tech Landscape Survey, which was fielded in December 2022. The data reflects the pre- and post-COVID period.
