Abstract

This IDC study provides vendor market shares for the printer and MFP market for 2023.

"Print vendors faced a year of mixed blessings in 2023. The year began with pent-up demand as vendors were able to ship backlogged orders that had accumulated during the supply chain crisis in 2021 and 2022. However, after pent-up demand was served, vendors faced weakened demand from a soft economy, as potential customers postponed significant purchases. Economic uncertainty remains and is expected to limit opportunities until at least the second half of 2024. As the economic outlook improves in the coming quarters, success will be determined by the extent to which each vendor's product offerings meet current and evolving business needs." — Geoffrey Wilbur, research manager, Imaging, Printing, and Document Solutions at IDC
