Abstract

This IDC Survey presents the results of multiple waves of IDC's 2022 and 2023 Future of Enterprise Resiliency and Spending (FERS) Survey. All contained results highlight pressing requirements, connectivity plans, and expected gains relating to the use of advanced network management systems and services — particularly network observability and automation solutions. In assembling the selected slide content, the last six months of results (Waves 10-12 in 2022 and Waves 1-3 in 2023) were processed. While the results offered in these slides represent the worldwide response totals, more granular views (e.g., country, company size, vertical industry) are available to IDC clients upon request.

"Organizations, while concerned with potential external disruptions such as inflation, conflicts, and environmental, are committed to technology buildouts that serve and protect their business model. Here, they seek a more unified digital infrastructure that heightens resiliency and responsiveness. Marking this unification effort are rising IT priorities focused on optimization, observability, automation, and security along with rather evenly distributed spending across the major technology domains that make up the digital infrastructure." — Mark Leary, research director, Network Observability and Automation, IDC
