This IDC Market Presentation is based on the latest Wi-Fi pivot table, Worldwide Wi-Fi Technology Forecast Update, 2024–2028: March 2024 (IDC #US51951324, March 2024). This pivot table contains a few hundred Wi-Fi-enabled products, is segmented by Wi-Fi protocol, and is categorized both in market and product categories as well as by primary client, IoT/endpoint, light edge infrastructure, heavy edge infrastructure, network infrastructure, and storage mechanism. This data is vast, and so there are many ways to view, segment, and filter the data. IDC has chosen some interesting ways to view some of the data in addition to making commentary on the high-level data. Primary clients are compared with IoT share to show how trends have changed in the past and how they will play out over the next five years.
