This IDC Survey Spotlight answers the following question: How will GenAI impact foundational security control points such as application security? In IDC's March 2024 Web Application and Availability Protection Buyer Insights Survey (n = 1,039), IT buyers indicated their plans to increase or decrease their investments in application security in response to the emergence of GenAI or, alternatively, to make no change in plans, and why.
As businesses consider the future role of GenAI in their IT practices, concerns about the cybersecurity implications of GenAI adoption are emerging.
