Abstract
This IDC study provides an updated forecast for the U.S. augmented and virtual reality headset market for the 2024–2028 period.
"2024 is the start of a new era for the U.S. AR/VR market," says Ramon T. Llamas, research director with IDC's Augmented and Virtual Reality team. "Apple's entrance to the market is a key milestone, but it also becomes a clear competitor and comparison point against which all other devices are measured. This will force all vendors — including Apple — to constantly innovate and push the envelope to develop best-in-class devices and experiences. Benefiting from all of this are end-users, especially those who have yet to adopt AR/VR."
