IDC's research shows that 67% of Asia/Pacific enterprises heavily rely on one or more public clouds.
SINGAPORE, 30 November 2023 – According to the IDC MarketScape: Asia/Pacific Cloud Professional Services 2023 -2024 Vendor Assessment, Accenture, Capgemini, DXC Technology, HCL Technologies, Infosys, NCS, PwC, Samsung SDS, and TCS are identified (in alphabetical order) as “Leaders”, closely followed by “Major Players” in the market, namely (in alphabetical order) Bespin Global, Blazeclan, CCL, IBM, Movate, Tata Communications, Tech Mahindra, Telstra Purple, and Wipro.
IDC’s 2023 Asia/Pacific Enterprise Services Sourcing Survey reveals that 67% of enterprises in the region now have significant workload deployments on one or more public clouds, underscoring the growing importance of cloud in enterprise IT. However, the same survey also reveals that enterprises in the region face critical challenges in their cloud journey, which include failure to meet the desired performance and operational objectives, hybrid estate complexity, inability to control costs, and lack of necessary cloud-related skills, among others. This suggests that there is a lot of value capable and experienced cloud professional services providers can bring to cloud-centric migration and modernization initiatives of enterprises.
This MarketScape study covers a wide range of professional services and deployment configurations and captures the nuances and differentiators in vendors' focus and strategy. While some of the participating firms demonstrated a clear strategic focus on public cloud and cloud-native services delivery, others have invested in building their own private cloud offerings that act as useful alternative for customers with specific requirements and use cases. Notable differences were observed in vendors' relative focus, assets, and delivery capabilities across the infrastructure, platforms, and applications layers. Finally, their presence and delivery capabilities differ significantly across different Asia/Pacific subregions.
"The cloud isn’t just an option, it’s the preferred platform for digital businesses. Cloud professional services providers are critical to helping businesses transition to a modern, cloud-centric model," says Pushkaraksh Shanbhag, Associate Director, Cloud and IT Services Research, IDC Asia/Pacific. "The wide range of transformative services offered by cloud professional services vendors — including app migration, modernization, cloud-native development, enterprise platform integration, and specialized industry solutions — requires businesses to thoughtfully assess providers against their unique needs. This report guides enterprises in making informed decisions to match these specific requirements," ends Shanbhag.
This IDC MarketScape report utilizes the IDC MarketScape framework to examine, analyze, and evaluate the vendors operating in the Asia/Pacific cloud professional services market.
