IDC’s 2024 Asia/Pacific CEO Sentiment Survey investigated sentiments about today’s digital-first landscape and how these perceptions are driving business priorities and technology investments. This document also examines the challenges that CEOs face and their perceptions the technology vendors to help tech vendors understand how to meet the priorities of CEOs in the region and serve as peer reference research for senior executives.

Asia/Pacific CEOs are embracing AI as a cornerstone of their strategic vision, with most CEOs perceiving AI as an enabler for differentiation and growth. Amongst these leaders, the visionary and ambitious ones are vying for first-mover benefits by intertwining generative AI/AI with broader digital strategies to forge novel business and operating models, with the promise of exponential growth in transformation outcomes. To realize these visions, leading CEOs are integrating AI responsibilities into the core functions of the C-suite’s roles for strategic focus. Concurrently, CEOs are turning to technology vendors and SPs for their expertise in cloud infrastructure and AI innovations. This confluence points to opportunities for vendors and SPs to educate, advise, and create a synergy between AI and digital initiatives, thus steering the course toward an "AI everywhere" landscape.

This analysis is based on the full international set of respondents of IDC’s 2024 Worldwide CEO Sentiment Survey concluded in February 2024. Respondents included 120 respondents from Asia/Pacific (including Japan).
