Abstract

This IDC Market Forecast study provides historical data (2018–2022) and forecast data (2023–2027) for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa external enterprise storage systems markets. The forecast represents an annual view of the quarterly forecasts released in March 2023 in IDC's 4Q22 Worldwide Quarterly Enterprise Storage Systems Tracker. The forecast and historical data focus on end-user consumption of three categories of enterprise storage systems — external OEM, internal OEM, and "other" — covering cumulative shipments of systems sold directly to customers by original design manufacturers (ODMs). For each of these categories, IDC has estimated value (end-user spending), terabytes, and price per gigabyte.

"Going on for over a year now, the Russia-Ukraine War is taking its toll on the EMEA market, especially in Central & Eastern Europe. 2023 should be a challenging year, but better days are expected in 2024 and beyond," said Luis Fernandes, senior research manager, IDC's EMEA: Future of Digital Infrastructure. "The growing need for newer and faster storage for new performance intensive workloads as well as more competitive prices of all-flash arrays vs. hybrid flash arrays will drive revenue growth in the EMEA storage market."
