Pete Finalle is a Senior Analyst for IDC’s Security team, currently responsible for the appliance tracker.  Mr. Finalle’s core research coverage area is currently focused on security hardware base year/market share quantitative information, forecasting, and qualitative analysis.  Mr. Finalle also has a technology analyst background spanning many diverse markets (from smart cards to satellites in geosynchronous orbit), which help him to add context and vertical market expertise to his analysis of the security market.


Previously, Pete was an Industry analyst at Frost & Sullivan for 10 years. At Frost & Sullivan, Pete authored syndicated research studies for over 40 different markets in the following industries: digital media, mobility, security, smartcard/payments, satellite communications, and conferencing services.  He has also completed consulting projects for many high-profile companies, including: Rockwell Collins, HuaWei, Samsung, AT&T, Hitachi, Toshiba, Gemalto, and many others.  Before joining Frost & Sullivan, Pete did a combination of network/IT and financial book-closing work/projects.
